Summary:
“Give us your tired your
poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free”. These words, found
on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, were often the first inscribed
words seen by immigrants coming to this country. Yearning to Breathe
Free follows the dramatized stories of seven immigrant families as
they begin a new life in America. The play ends with students having
the opportunity to share their own immigration history.
