A wish is a
hope, a want, a desire, a dream, a goal
Envision it, seek it
When opportunity presents itself receive it
Pursue it, attain it
Never let it out of sight
We were all born with a gift
Negative thoughts dismiss it
Never say Never
Expect obstacles that will try to hinder you
Misdirect you, even discourage you
Obstacles are in place to make us wiser and stronger
When standing in the face of defeat
Let it be known giving up or giving in was never optional
Because you are a victor, a leading entrant
When you start something you finish it
Use your gift to benefit
To help someone else discover and achieve their gift
That they might not know they possess
Invest in optimism and happiness
Life is hard enough
Who has time to worry about the small stuff
You can do anything you set your mind to
The only thing stopping you is you
Things that are possible once seemed impossible
Fulfill your joy satisfy your passion
See the wish bring it into view
Reach for your potential
The rest is up to you
It doesn't matter where you grew up or how you grew up
Each day is different than the one before it
Past abuses and memories don't ignore it but don't store it
Let it go allow yourself to grow
To rearrange, to make a positive change
Never stop believing or dreaming
See the wish until it is accomplished!

The Wish is thrilled to present this poem written for us by Tahitia
Foggie who so beautifully encapsulated the meaning and emotion behind
the name of our company. A writer/poet born in the Bronx in August
of 1975, Tahitia was raised in the foster care system from the age of
8-months until her high school graduation in 1993. She started
writing poetry at age 8 but her writing truly flourished at age 12 when
she moved to a girls' group home in Upstate NY. (There, Tahitia
first crossed paths with Jennifer Young, now co-founder of See The Wish,
who then worked as a Life Skills Educator for the group home's foster
care agency.) Today, Tahitia lives in North Texas and has five children.
She is currently working on a children's book about having the courage
to speak up about child abuse. "Poetry is my passion and one of my
favorite outlets. I write to inspire and empower."
