Cast! The Story! Another Passover? Another Seder? The Lerner kids, Ariel and Benjamin, think it's the most boring holiday ever... that’s until their "Bubbe" finds a magical, musical way to tell them the story that every Jew around the world tells at their Passover table and has for thousands of years. With their grandmother's enchanting storytelling, the children travel back in time to ancient Egypt and experience first-hand the liberation of the Hebrews from slavery. As they embody Moses and his brave sister, Miriam, Benjamin confronts the Pharaoh to “let my people go” and Ariel leads them through the parting of the Red Sea. The Lerner kids and audience members alike will forever remember the story of Passover and the meaning behind its holiday traditions.

Bound
to have kids singing their way through the Seder, reliving the
story and making it their own! I am happy to recommend this enthusiastically
-- and can't wait to bring my whole religious school! What a fun, lively and
whimsical collection of songs and stories that bring Passover to
life!
A delightful and fresh retelling of the ancient story! “Matzah &
Miracles” is a marvelous resource for both Christian and Jewish families
where we can read, mark and inwardly digest our common history in a
lively way. A delightful musical!
It educates and entertains while telling an ancient tale in a modern
format. As Bubbe says in the play "It is not enough just to tell
the story of Passover...each person must experience it." "Matzah
and Miracles" helps us fulfill this "mitzvah" by drawing us into the
story and making us feel like we were in Egypt. Children of all
ages as well as their parents and grandparents will enjoy "Matzah
and Miracles" so much that they might not even know how much they
are learning while enjoying the show. The sign of every good
musical is when the music remains with you once the show has ended.
I could not stop singing the songs I heard in "Matzah and Miracles"
and I am sure that the songs in the play will become part of every
child's Passover repertoire. Families will surely enhance their
Passover Seders with songs from "Matzah and Miracles" and every
family that sees the show will make these songs part of their Seder
tradition. |
